To have the responsibility of bringing together two people with their words and unique ways of expressing themselves is a sacred task. Tips for planning your Kansas City wedding ceremony

That depends on where you live. To obtain a Kansas City marriage license, the location of your wedding determines where to apply:

  • If the ceremony is in Kansas City, MO: Apply for a license in Missouri at the Recorder of Deeds Office in Jackson, Clay, Platte, or Cass County, depending on the venue.
  • If the ceremony is in Kansas City, KS: Apply for a license in Kansas at the District Court Clerk’s Office in Wyandotte County.

Each state has specific requirements, so contact the appropriate office for details on fees, identification, and waiting periods.

As long as the state recognizes that the individual has the proper ordination (which also includes online programs), it’s legal. But it may not be in your best interest. Your friend or family member may not be comfortable speaking in front of people and have the ability to go with the flow.
